Crypto Rallies Across the Board, But Fear Index Refuses to Budge
Markets moved up across the board today. Bitcoin gained 1.3% to trade near $63,400, holding 56.3% dominance as total crypto market cap rose to $2.26 trillion, up 1.4% in 24 hours on $36.3B in volume. Altcoins outpaced BTC: Ethereum climbed 2.5% to $1,881, Solana led majors with a 3% gain to $73.59, BNB rose 2.4% to $588, XRP added 2.5% to $1.08, and Dogecoin gained nearly 3% to $0.0705.
What stands out is the disconnect: despite the broad green, the Fear & Greed Index reads 27 — Fear, unchanged from the prior session. Prices are rising while sentiment stays cautious, a pattern that often shows up after a stretch of drawdowns, when traders treat rallies as relief rather than confirmation. Whether this becomes a real shift in trend or just a bounce inside a fearful market is the question the next few sessions will answer.
